Tommy Gate
Tommy Gate has been manufacturing American Made liftgates from their facility in Woodbine, Iowa since 1965. The company was founded by Delbert “Bus” Brown who designed and constructed the original Tommy Gate Hydraulic Lift. The lift name came from the name of his son. The company still uses the original factory in Iowa, however it has expanded to cover more than 200,000 square feet in current form. Continue reading

We like the story behind Upstate Stock as well: Upstate Stock was started over 10 years ago with a focus on producing goods people would be proud to purchase. As the name suggests, a large part of that meant keeping things close while doing everything possible to support the local economy as well as the neighborhood we are proud to call home. Newton Broom & Brush Co was founded on January 10th, 1914 in Newton, IL. It has been producing American Made brooms ever since! They still produce The Original Kitchenette which is made using 100% Broom corn. What is Broom corn? According to Britannica: broomcorn, (Sorghum bicolor), upright variety of sorghum of the family Poaceae, cultivated for its stiff stems. The seeds of broomcorn are borne on the ends of long straight branches. When harvested and dried, these stiff bristles are processed and bound to form broom heads and brushes and are also used for wreaths and other decorations. Continue reading
