Every so often we stumble across a company that is solving a problem we hadn’t really thought about. Once such company is Lacuesa who makes hand-stitched wallets from deer hides.

So what is the part we hadn’t thought about? What happens to the deer hides of most deer after they have been harvested by a hunter? Usually they are left to become one with the Earth.

What Lacuesa does is use those hides to produce beautiful hand-stitched leather wallets.

Every leather product on our site starts out as a game animal living free in our nation’s wilderness. All of our skins come from legally authorized hunters. While all responsible hunters harvest the meat from their kills, the skins are normally relegated to the trash dump. We give these skins a purpose ensuring less of the animal is wasted.

What a perfect union.

Responsible hunters make use of every ounce of meat possible to feed their loved ones. Lacuesa then uses the remaining hide to create American Made wallets.

Everything is used. No waste.

In terms of the wallets themselves, you’ll find a great selection available.

We lean more towards the smaller versions such as The 4 Card Non-Typical Bifold and The 4 Card Half-Rack Cardholder.

However, if you are a more traditionalist you may favor The 4 Card Typical Bifold or maybe even The 6 Card Typical Bifold.

There are, of course, other options as well. Something for everyone for sure.
