Epaulet
There’s a certain kind of clothing brand that doesn’t shout. It doesn’t plaster logos across everything or chase whatever trend is burning up social media this week. It just quietly makes great stuff - well-fitted, built to last, made by skilled hands right here in America. That’s Epaulet.
Founded in 2008 by Eva Kuhle, Epaulet started as a boutique on Smith Street in Brooklyn, New York - right in the middle of one of the worst economic collapses in modern memory. Not the easiest time to launch a clothing brand. But Kuhle had a clear vision: clothes worth keeping. Not for a season. For a decade.
100% Made in America
Here’s the headline: every piece of Epaulet-branded clothing is manufactured in the United States. No exceptions, no offshore shortcuts.
Most of the collection is made in Los Angeles, where Epaulet is now based. Their suit jackets and tailored trousers come from the Rochester Tailored Clothing factory in upstate New York - the very same factory that was once home to Hickey Freeman, one of the most storied names in American tailoring. When you put on an Epaulet sportcoat, you’re wearing something made by craftspeople with serious pedigree.
That kind of commitment isn’t just a marketing line. It shows up in the construction. Lightly canvassed jackets. Soft shoulders. Details that fast-fashion brands don’t bother with because they cost time and skill - two things you can’t offshore without losing.

Buy Better, Not More
Epaulet’s philosophy is refreshingly straightforward: buy better, buy less. Their customers aren’t replacing pieces every season - they’re wearing them for years. That’s the point.
The collection covers the essentials a well-dressed man actually needs:
- Rivet Chinos - a flagship trouser, cut for real wear
- Doyle Chore Coat - workwear heritage meets modern refinement
- Wilhelm Chinos - relaxed fit, American made
- Custom suits and sportcoats - built to your measurements, made in Rochester
- Custom shirts - crafted to order in LA
The custom program is where Epaulet really shines. You can visit their Los Angeles studio for an in-person fitting, or work through the whole process remotely with measurements, photos, and live consultation. Either way, you end up with a garment cut for your body, not a size chart.

Quality That Speaks for Itself
The reviews say it better than any ad copy could:
“The fit has been exact and the quality is unmatched.”
That’s the Epaulet promise in a sentence. When a brand makes everything domestically, with American workers and real quality control, the product reflects it. You can feel the difference.
In a clothing market flooded with cheap imports and disposable fashion, Epaulet stands apart - not by being loud about it, but by simply making things worth owning. American-made, American workers, built to last.
That’s worth supporting.
